Roots of Freedom: Geer Cemetery Celebration of Ratification and Preservation

The Friends of Geer Cemetery is hosting a community event on December 6th in celebration of: NC Ratification of 13th Amendment, the preservation of cemetery grounds and headstones completed in 2025, and the unveiling of the National Historic Landmark plaque.  The event will be held December 6th, 2025, starting at 10:30 am at Geer Cemetery located at 800 Colonial Street. It is free and open to the public.
